Proline Odds

Let’s take a look at the Proline odds in a little bit more detail so that you know exactly what it is your are betting on when you fill in your Proline sheet.  Any Proline tips you may have been given mean nothing if you don’t understand what you are betting on with Proline.

Proline requires you to bet on between 3 and 6 games in a parlay ticket.  You have the choice between 5 options for the winner of the game, and often times you can also choose the over or under.  Proline uses decimal odds, which are very easy to understand, but we will touch on that quickly first before getting into what the V+, V, T, H and H+ really mean.

Proline Decimal Odds

When you look at a Proline odds sheet you will see a lot of decimal numbers.  These numbers indicate the multiplier that outcome gives to your potential payout.  Here is a quick example:

Senators (H+) 2.00
Maple Leafs (H) 1.70
Bruins (V) 1.40

If you select these three outcomes and wager $10 you can find your potential payout by multiplying each of these decimal odds by one another and then by the risk amount.  So the payout in this case would be (2.00 x 1.70 x 1.40 x $10) $47.60.  Very simple and these decimal odds are good at convincing bettors into thinking they will get a good payout for little risk (which is not the case).

Proline Odds vs Online Sportsbook Odds

Online sportsbook odds are much more competitive and player friendly than Proline odds. Proline odds are meant to create a large profit margin for the Ontario government, while online sports betting odds must stay competitive with other online bookies.
